Promises Kept - New Glass Pendants

Well, it has almost been officially 10 days since I last posted. Since that post, I thought I had obtained what I needed to start making the glass pendants! Over the course of those 10 days I experienced a few highs and lows in the jewelry making business. First, let me say that it seems no matter how hard I try, I rarely have all the supplies I need at ONCE!! I needed images to get started, so I bought them. Next, my ink cartridge in my printer was almost out, so I bought one. I ran out of glue, so I bought some. However, it wasn't the quality or caliber of what I had used previously, which left me out of glue since I refuse to use anything less than excellent quaility. Sunday, I ordered every single thing I could possibly need with the exception of yet another cartridge for my printer since the photo cartridge will not work without a color cartridge.........and so the story continues.

I have made a few glass pendants and I must say I'm addicted. They are very easy to make, but what I love most is they are SOOOOO cute and fun to wear! I have approximately 600 images to choose from. They range from Breast Cancer Awareness, Cowgirl Cuties, Sports, Dance, Gymnastics, Dance, Hippie to Country Girls, Vintage Girls, Music, Teachers, Twilight, etc.

Take a peek at some of my new items. I hope to open an ETSY store very soon. I will have more details in the future. If you are interested in browsing through my 600 images for your own pendant, just let me know! You can e-mail me at loriefussner@gmail.com

A Lucky Grandma

After making a pendant for one of my friends, she decided that grandma needed one. What a lucky lady - to have such a cute grandson and wonderful daughter-in-law! Check it out!

New Adventure

So, I've decided there's more fun to be had in the jewelry making world. I'm excited to announce that I'm going to expand my horizons and try making glass tile pendants. I've been researching and will be teaching myself once my new supplies arrive! Stay tuned for pictures!

One For Grandma

Last week I finally got around to making Grandma's first pendant. She was excited and announced she would be wearing it Friday to her weekly gathering with her friends. For some reason, my camera didn't want to take a good pictures of the front!

Saturday's Treasures

Amidst three boys playing fairly well today, I was able to make some new pendants! For the first time I tried bending wire to make pretty elegant calligraphy letters, and I think they turned out nicely. I've started working on Valentine's Day projects as well. Check them out! Let me know what you think.

New Year New Hope

As this New Year begins, I reflect back on what was an awesome 2009. At the start of last year, I never imagined I would find the love of my life (at 37 years old), let alone be married at the start of 2010! With my new life there have been challenges, but they have all been well worth it. This is where my new artistic journey begins.

I was at a craft show where I saw my first soldered collage art pendant. I KNEW I wanted one with our new family wedding picture in it. (You have to be cautious and avoid using copywritten photos - our photographer gave us rights to our pictures by giving us a CD). I decided it would be really fun to learn how to do it on my own. After researching numerous websites and watching videos online, I have been able to teach myself! At first, I was a little nervous about using a soldering iron, solder and flux (what's that?) and I trembled while working on the first few practice projects because of my fear!

I have had a great response to my work thus far, however, I learn more and more about new designs and ideas everyday. In this blog, I plan to chronicle my journey with my new obsession - preserving memories through soldered collage art pendants. It is my hope that I can help as many of you as possible wear a beautiful piece of art with those you love close to your heart, just as I do.

Happy New Year to you and yours! If you have a special photo or memory you'd like preserved in your own pendant, drop me a line!
